On my first full day in Paris, I attempted to battle the infamous French bureaucracy and complete my administrative processing at Sciences Po. The uni is located in the 7th, near the Latin Quarter, so Dad and I set off on foot from our hotel in the 9th. We went through the Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde, Bv Saint-Germain and finished up in L’église Saint-Sulpice (location of one of the scenes in The Da Vinci Code). Sunrise in Paris right now is around 8:45am, so we didn’t have to set off to early to get the amazingly warm morning light you can see below.
Rue de Castiglione, heading from Place Vendôme to Jardin des Tuileries.
Le Musée du Louvre from Jardin des Tuileries.
Place de la Concorde, with l’obélisque in the centre and La Fontaine des Mers in the foreground.
La Tour Eiffel and Le Pont Alexandre III.
The organ in Saint-Sulpice (built between 1776-1781).
