Winter in Melbourne

Here are the first photos from my time in Australia in June/July. We flew in to Melbourne and spent a few days there to get over the jet lag before driving three hours East to the Gippsland Lakes of Victoria (to come in the next post). The first morning we got up super early and I knew we just had to go to The Kettle Black. This cafe has the best coffee ever – I had to have two flat whites in a row! I know so many cities like to claim they have the best coffee but I wouldn’t disagree with someone if they said Melbourne was top of the list. And their hot cakes were so delicious and well presented (see photo below). The Kettle Black is really a must if you’re ever in Melbourne.

The rest of the day we walked around the city and through the botanic gardens. We were lucky enough to catch the end of the autumn foliage and the gardens were the best place to see it.
