Most “Instagrammable” London Eateries

The Ivy Tower Bridge, London

Today I thought I’d put together another list concerning one of my favourite past times: whiling away an hour or two at some of London’s most “instagrammable” cafés or restaurants. Some people might find this adjective a tad annoying because, after all, you should pick where you eat depending on how yummy the food is right? And I totally agree, but it just so happens that a lot of these places have delicious food and serve a good coffee as well as being very photogenic. Besides, I get so many messages asking me to compile a list of my favourite places to eat, perhaps because people have seen me feature some of these places on my Instagram over the past year or so, and I thought it would be convenient for everyone if I just put them all in one post 🙂

As for the criteria to qualify as “instagrammable”, I guess some of my personal favourite interior design or food styling features would have to be: marble/tiled tables, pastel or otherwise pretty crockery, floral displays, pretty coffee art and beautiful finishing touches on dishes – berries + icing sugar anyone? Please feel free to tell me any that I have missed as this is definitely not an exhaustive list! I know I’ve definitely got to visit Chiltern Firehouse, Aubaine Selfridges and The Ned one of these days…

Around Knightsbridge and South Kensington:

Ladurée Harrods

Ladurée at Harrods: This was one of my most successful Instagram posts from 2016 so I know a lot of people must have liked those pretty pastel pink plates as much as I did!

Iddu, London

Iddu, South Kensington: I love the patterned tabletops and wicker chairs of the patio at Iddu, but to be honest, the food is the main reason I go to this Sicilian restaurant. I always get the truffle pasta 🙂

Dalloway Terrace, Bloomsbury:

Dalloway Terrace, London

These guys leapt onto the scene last year with their beautiful marble tables, all-weather terrace and themed floral/plant decor that changes with the seasons. Unfortunately I missed out on seeing the winter garden they created at the end of last year, but I’m hoping it comes back soon now that the weather is getting colder!

Around Mayfair:

Sketch, London

sketch: The famous sketch had to make it onto this list of course. The Gallery is decked out in a perfectly instagrammable shade of pink, but my favourite part of the afternoon tea experience would have to be the slightly kooky crockery and artwork lining the walls. You can read more about sketch in a previous blog post here.

NAC, London

NAC (North Audley Canteen): This is one of my favourite places to go for a casual but delicious brunch in the Mayfair area. They do a brilliant shakshuka, but here I have photographed their beautifully presented French toast with raspberries, clotted cream and pistachio. My favourite thing about this place is definitely the blue patterned cups and plates (yes I know I have an unhealthy obsession with crockery!).

Peggy Porschen Cakes, Belgravia:

Peggy doesn’t really need an introduction, so I’ll just leave these two photos here and if you haven’t been already – hop to it! Although maybe try to go on a weekday as it can get super busy on weekends.

The Ivy Restaurants:

The Ivy Tower Bridge, London

The Ivy group are some of my favourite restaurants to visit for a more upmarket brunch or lunch. Pictured above is the new Ivy Tower Bridge, conveniently located on my side of town (I just moved into a new flat in East London), so I think I will be visiting these guys much more often!

The Ivy Soho Brasserie, London

This shot was taken at the opening of The Ivy Soho Brasserie, on their beautiful flower-filled terrace. You can read more about this restaurant here.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden, London

I couldn’t actually find a good photo of the terrace at The Ivy Chelsea Garden, so this close-up of their signature coffee art will have to do instead. If you’re over that side of town though, I would definitely head over there to treat yourself to their amazing brunch. Just be sure to book a couple of weeks in advance!

Farm Girl, Notting Hill:

I’m sure if you follow some London instagrammers you will definitely have seen photos of this Australian-run café’s cute pink outdoor tables and their rose petal lattes. I definitely need to go back there soon! Again, this place doesn’t take bookings so if you can go on a weekday at all I would definitely recommend trying to get a table then. I’ve walked past the line on a Saturday and it goes right down Portobello Road!
